With a background in special education, she ensures every outing is thoughtfully organized to meet diverse learning styles and social comfort levels. Maggie’s calm leadership and clear communication help participants feel prepared, confident, and understood.

    With years of experience in accessible and group travel planning, our travel expert handles all the logistics—from choosing sensory-considerate destinations to coordinating transportation and schedules. His focus on safety, comfort, and seamless planning allows participants to focus on what matters most: having fun and exploring with friends.

    As a neurodiversity advocate (and self-advocate or ally), our autism specialist ensures that every aspect of the program centers the voices and needs of autistic individuals. Kyle provides training for staff, guidance for families, and a vital perspective that helps shape respectful, empowering experiences for all participants.

    Travel and Creativity are perfect partners - we love offering art and craft actives that go along with the excursions. Based on each individual’s interest level, we will bring art sketchbooks, pencils, markers and watercolors for anyone who wants to try the art and travel pairing. We love observing nature and connecting to quiet art making with each other. We love offering this to everyone, but this is optional!

What is Vanishing Limits?

Vanishing Limits is a nonprofit organization that organizes inclusive excursions for individuals with autism in the Bay Area. We focus on creating safe, enriching, and mindful outdoor experiences that foster social connection, exploration, and joy.

What is included when I book with Vanishing Limits?

When you book an excursion with Vanishing Limits, your fee covers several key elements:

  • Hourly excursion rate based on the length of the trip

  • An experienced, thoughtful tour guide, who leads with care and expertise

  • Any activity or entrance fees required for that specific outing

Guests are also encouraged to bring extra spending money in case they’d like to purchase snacks, souvenirs, or anything special to enhance their experience. We aim to make each excursion as smooth and enriching as possible!

Why is Vanishing Limits needed?

Many autistic individuals face barriers to participating in everyday social and recreational activities — from sensory overwhelm and inaccessible environments to a lack of inclusive programming. Vanishing Limits was created to change that. We provide thoughtfully designed excursions that support neurodivergent needs while fostering connection, confidence, and joy. Our outings help combat isolation, promote inclusion, and offer a safe space to explore the world with community and care.

How can I make a donation?

Vanishing Limits thrives off of generosity from our donors! We welcome all donations through our donation page, which can be navigated from the “Giving Back” page under the resources tab from the website header. We highly appreciate all donations that have made our mission possible!

What do I need to bring?

We recommend wearing comfortable clothes and shoes suitable for walking and the weather. Please bring a packed lunch or money for lunch, as well as snacks, so each guest is prepared for each trip! Just in case inspiration strikes, our tour guide always carries a travel art kit with supplies for drawing and coloring — a great option if participants feel creative during downtime!

What are interactive groups?

Interactive groups are thoughtfully organized small groups designed to make each excursion welcoming, inclusive, and socially comfortable. We form groups based on the needs, interests, and pace of each participant to help ensure safe socialization and a positive experience for everyone involved.

Before each excursion, we host an online 15-minute welcoming chat to get to know new members and help place them in the group that will best support their comfort and enjoyment. You can sign up for Meet & Greets using the registration link when booking with Vanishing Limits.

When booking an excursion, you’ll always click “Save My Spot” first—this lets us compose groups with care before collecting payment. It’s part of our commitment to building connection, trust, and community at every event.
